IF YOU NEED THE 12 EDITION BUY THE 11TH!!!! I transferred schools and I needed Chemistry: The Central Science for Chem II. The class listed that I needed the 12th edition but they also gave us Mastering Chemistry for free so I figured would just use the E-Book. It turned out to be a pain so about five weeks into the semester I decided I needed a hard copy of the book and decided to check the difference between editions. These are literally the same book with exception to Ch. 22 & 23 in 11E and Ch. 23 in the 12E. Most of Ch.23 in 12E is Ch. 23 with parts of Ch. 22 in 11E, you just have to know where you are supposed to be. Also Ch.25 in 11E is Ch.24 in 12E.Even all of the end of chapter exercises are the same in 11E as 12E just numbered differently and some in different order, but all within the same section. There are some that vary slightly, usually just values, but I’d say 97% are the same. Not all of the sample questions are identical either throughout the chapter but most are. This is a great…

Not accurate First off, this book is outdated. On top of that, the structure of the book does not make sense. It starts off with “diagnostic tests” to determine what you know and don’t know about chemistry, which in theory is a strong idea. However, these diagnostic tests include things that will not even REMOTELY be tested on the exam. It makes you study things you DO NOT NEED! The practice tests they include are very poor in quality. They include outdated questions, and the questions are not even similar to the real ap chemistry exam (this is coming from someone who has taken numerous practice exams). Do not buy this, instead look for a different prep book. Waste of money.

THE BEST: buy in beginning of school year! My actual chemistry textbook was not aligned with the AP curriculum exactly, and this book really makes everything short and sweet and has EVERYTHING you need to know. If I had known how useful it was, I would have bought it in the beginning of the year!! The practice questions after each section are PERFECT. If you can do them, you understand the material. Also, I just took the AP test this year and I can say that the short answers are VERY SIMILAR to what this book has. The multiple choice isn’t as good, but definitely study the short answer because some of the short answers in the book were almost the same if not harder than the actual AP Exam. When I finished the short answer section, on the AP Exam, I can happily say I knew how to do the redox titration and enthalpy one thanks to this amazing book. If you’re taking AP chem next year, buy Princeton review! (It’s betger than barons cause it gets to the point and makes everything easy, it also covers all the lab stuff you need to…

I needed it for my natural sciences course and I really like how well this is organized This is very helpful, in combination with the internet in understanding the periodic table. I used Wikihow and this sheet to understand the table and trends etc, and finally feel confident enough to take an exam. I needed it for my natural sciences course and I really like how well this is organized. I recommend this for anyone taking a chemistry course – very worth it.

Worst Online experience ever! I had to buy the online access again because the one that comes in the book does not work for my school even after I sent the link to my professor and asked about that before ordering.Pearson Mastering Chemistry is Absolutely the worst interface ever. Even within a single chapter assignment there is discrepancy in their values. they are not consistent and obviously hired a programmer who has never taken a science class in their life to make the software. Professor said he contacted Pearson and the basically told him TOO BAD! I talked to other professors who agree and refuse to use the online assignments with Pearson texts

There’s better AP Chem prep books There’s better AP Chem prep books. The wording in this book makes you feel stupid and requires too much effort to decipher. Other books like Princeton make it pretty obvious what they’re talking about and help visualize ideas.

Very informative for those new to chemistry This hard book is GOOD for those who are new to general chemistry because it is full of information and it doesn’t assume you know this like some authors and publishers. It is best to buy this book online instead of a bookstore (college) because you’ll pay more. This book also has illustrations to help you, and it will be used for the full one year of general chemistry. I think this book is one of the best books I had while completing my undergraduate degree. I don’t think buyers would be disappointed if bought. Even years after graduating, I still think about this book in terms of the straight-forward information it gives. I hope future buyers will agree.

Big help My daughter has used this as a supplement to what she’s learned in her honors Chem class this year.

Hooked on Phonics doesn’t work for me Hooked on Phonics has been around since I was a kid, and so when it came time to work with my three-year-old on learning how to read, this seemed like a no-brainer. Who can think of this product without remembering the commercial and a bunch of kids exclaiming, “Hooked on Phonics worked for me!” Well, it doesn’t work for me.The materials included are a workbook, stickers, flash cards, story books, and a DVD. The DVD and flash cards are meant to reinforce the lesson learned from the workbook. The workbook itself has each letter of the alphabet on each page, practice on the next page, and after about 5 letters does a review. After each lesson your child can put a star on the page to show he’s accomplished that letter. The sticker is the best part of the whole deal. The pages are extremely basic and something I could have either put together myself or printed for free off the internet. It shows a big picture of the letter and next to it offers several suggestions of…

Not worth the money I bought this to teach my grandson to read. I taught my daughter to read using the original Hooked on Phonics. This was about 27 years ago. The original was amazing. This one stinks! It does not follow the same format as the original. It says it “adheres to National and State Standards.” That is the problem. It doesn’t stick to an easy to use, traditional phonics approach. I regret buying it. I tried it with my grandson, but it really didn’t work the way I had hoped. I would return it, but I have stickers on some of the pages. I do not recommend this product. I wish they’d go back to the original format.

I bought this for my daughter since I didn’t really … I bought this for my daughter since I didn’t really have much time to teach her at home. She is definitely grasping what is taught in the video. Comes with a few books that they can read what was taught in the lessons. Definitely does what it’s intended to do!

success This fits my personality and teaching style. My kindergartener loves it. She likes being able to look at the alphabet and a picture next to each letter to remind her of the sound. First time opening it was a success.

MY 22MO IS READING BECAUSE OF THIS this program works!! I started this DVD set when my son was 19mo, he is now 22 months and knows all his letters, the sounds they make, and can recognize them anywhere. At 1st I think he was memorizing them until we were out and he started pointing to the letters and saying the sounds and names! it comes with flash cards, and workbooks. I never used the work books, only the flash cards and the 2 DVDs that come with the kit. its so good of a program that my 22mo is bored now with the letters he knows them all and now i’m going to move onto the next kit which is kindergarten level. WORTH THE BUY, ITS GREAT
